El Puig

El Puig is a village located 15 km north of Valencia, Spain. It is officially known as El Puig de Santa Maria since 2012 and is situated in the comarca of Horta Nord.

The village has a rich history, having been the spiritual capital of the Kingdom of Valencia during the 13th century. There are many things to see in El Puig, including the Sant Jordi chapel, which was built in 1631 to commemorate the battle of El Puig and honor San Jorge. The Real Monasterio De Santa Maria Del Puig is also a popular attraction. Additionally, there are plans for approximately 1,200 homes to be built in the area.

Interestingly, there is a unique rock hotel called El Puig de la Balma Catalonia located in the area.
