As you may have noticed if you are anywhere in Europe we have reached peak summertime and the temperatures are rising. You may also have noticed this living in the States during the World Cup with the infamous "Hydration Breaks" which are sort of needed in 35ºC heat but not so much when you are in an air conditioned stadium at 21ºC.

So, it's time to say congratulations to the best international football team in the World, Spain of course (closely followed by Cape Verde) and luxuriate in the winning of the World Cup and, most importantly, the cropping out of the Mango Mussolini from the celebration pictures. That empty space on the right below is where he was but just like Stalin's purges people can just disappear from images and I'm sure that once he pops his clogs then he will be purged from most people's memories as just a bad dream (Make it soon please non-existent deity).

Summertime Plans

Now the World Cup is over we need something to do with our time, especially in the evenings, and as we take most of the summer off what we are doing is kicking back and relaxing. Valencia Property is mostly closed as usual over the summer but we have a few of us manning the mails and making the visits at different times for those clients unable to avoid coming to Valencia in August.

I am remote in Asturias in Northern Spain for the majority of the summer where I am working on the websites, planning the next few month's work and annoying everyone by sending them pictures of Fabadas, Rice Puddings, Cheesecakes and every now and again, lovely cooling rain. I will also be continuing to write the blog, produce the podcast and organise everything at both Valencia Property and Stepping Stone Rentals so we don't stop totally.

Market Dynamics

Next week we will be producing our mid-year report, a bit late but that's because we have been busy of course. Nevertheless let me give you advance warning of what is happening. For the first time since Covid things are slowing down. There are more properties available, fewer sales being made and as mentioned last week banks and valuers are slowing things up. We'll have the full report next week for you so make sure to come back and take a look.

Stepping Stone Rentals

Over at Stepping Stone Rentals we had our strongest month ever in June but there is one thing still missing, apartments accepting pets. We have so much demand from families wanting to bring their family member (Cat or dog) and we just don't have enough properties that accept them. We have written a post over on the SSR blog about the need to accept pets and why it's a good idea for owners to accept pets but we still need more properties. Pet owners are generally among the best tenants to have as they know the difficulties involved in finding accommodation so always treat it with the greatest respect.

Sky High in the Casco Antiguo of Denia we find this duplex apartment.

Regular readers will know we usually keep to Valencia city and the towns around it, but for anyone who wants the small-town pace of life, walkable streets, a proper old town, mountains and sea both nearby without sacrificing culture, good food or an international community, Dénia does it as well as anywhere on this coast.
