Spanish December Holidays, The Weather and Sunshine

We have just had a very quiet week in a few ways although you may have noticed no new posts on the site because I was still very busy. The reason that it was quiet is that the two fiestas in December this week fell on Tuesday and Thursday. Now I have explained before on these pages about the Spanish tradition of having a bridge day when holidays fall like this but this week was a difficult one. Do you take the Monday and Tuesday off and work Wednesday and Friday? Do you assume nothing is going to happen on the Wednesday either and add it into the mix or do you just take the whole week off and have a nine day holiday?

Due to the economic crisis this year many people decided to work on all three of the potential bridge days and some bars and restaurants that would normally be closed opened on the actual holidays around Valencia. I was down in Murcia on Thursday and Friday and it was quiet. I assume most people had stayed at home.

However, one thing that was excellent for some of the beach resorts was the weather this week which has been absolutely stunning. 20 degrees every day and sunny. I have added a selection of photos taken this week down in Murcia and here in Valencia this afternoon. If you fancy a little bit of this type of weather then get yourself a place in Spain and enjoy living rather than huddling around a fire listening to the rain, hail and snow outside.

And just a little laugh for you. We went to get some Xmas plants. These ones may be a bit spiky though.
