I have been wanting to take photos of some great properties in the last week and again I am being hamstrung by the weather. The subject has moved onto people's agenda in Spain and therefore you have to say that something unusual is happening. Let's look at the facts. In November the temperature in Valencia didn't drop below a minimum of 20ºC on any day, autumn stretched into winter with ease and we all thought cool, a nice warm winter. Oh how wrong we were.
I was in Manchester for a couple of days at the end of November and I got back to the news that my house now had the heating on. Basically it has been on ever since. I have been in Spain for twenty years more or less now and you cannot really compare Valencia with Asturias, the Green North of Spain where of course it rains a lot and I used to live. However I am now celebrating my 11th year in Valencia and I have to say that I have never seen anything like this. We haven't had the snow of the UK of course but it has actually snowed here too this year. (Did you see our snow video?) Just in case here it is. The rain in Spain though has not really been confined to the plain. It has been incessantly raining for about two months now. The odd day when we think maybe we are now getting back to normality only for the next day to awaken grey and drizzly.
This is of course good news in general. The Mandarins this year have been nothing short of stunningly juicy, the dams are at their fullest for years an in some areas of Andalucia they are actually overflowing. Compare that with the drought conditions previously seen all over the country. We are starting to actually appreciate sunny days rather than take them for granted and best of all my children actually get to use their wellies before they grow out of them and get to go and jump in muddy puddles on a regular basis.
This might not convince you to buy a house for sale in Spain although the video below may well do, but bear it in mind when looking at my wonderful video channel when it seems there is everlasting sunshine, I don't take pictures on wet and grey days normally.
