Even before we moved to Valencia, I knew I wanted to work with Valencia Property. Back in Canada, I had been listening to their podcast to get a feel for the local market, and it gave me a strong sense that they were honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. Although my husband is Spanish and we could have managed the process ourselves, working with Paul was absolutely worth it. We met Graham and David during a scouting trip and felt right at home with them. Fast-forward several months, we arrived in Spain. By the end of the first week, with David's help, we made an offer. The most stressful thing was whether I'd pack one or two t-shirts for the trip. A genuine breath of fresh air.

As first-time buyers in Spain the team at Valencia Properties educated us about each step, from mortgage pre-approval, obtaining NIE numbers, opening bank accounts to closing. David was highly knowledgeable about the local market and his input was particularly helpful when negotiating unfamiliar and complex paperwork and contract details. From start to finish David made sure we always felt like a priority. The team were quick to respond, and overall communication was always excellent. We signed for our new home in Valencia in June 2024.

As buyers coming from the US, the early support was incredibly reassuring. Gavin showed us a thoughtful mix of properties despite the tight market. He gave us a breakdown of all the final costs (taxes, agent fees, deposits) that we kept referring back to right up until signing day. After the sale, Valencia Property's concierge service helped us get set up with internet, mobile service, and even a great handyman. Now we're settled in Patacona Beach and love our new home.

Paul went above and beyond on several occasions and took personal responsibility for multiple things in order not to bother me with them. As a result, the whole process went so smoothly and efficiently, including the day of the signing which was completed in a record 30 minutes. Paul and the team are worth their weight in gold, are incredibly knowledgeable, and obviously take a huge amount of pride in their work. They more than exceeded my expectations.

Our goal was to purchase a property within the city and then completely rehab it — which required a rental unit while the work occurred. David Tivey became our purchasing agent and helped us through the gauntlet of the Valencia marketplace. Catherine Salsbury of Stepping Stone Rentals embraced our needs and professionally located, furnished, and contracted our mid-term rental. Then Valencia Property's project managers guided our complete rehab from start to finish. They helped us hire the architect, gain permits, source suppliers and builders. Valencia Property helped us throughout the difficult process of buying a Spanish property (NIE, bank account, lawyer, payment issues, negotiations etc.). After the first success, we extended our interest to the seaside cities between Alicante and Denia — VP was also great at this. However many times you have bought and sold property in the UK or the USA or the Netherlands, that experience counts for little in Spain. We have now bought two apartments in Valencia six years apart. The first time we had tried the do-it-yourself approach for almost a year and got nowhere. Within a couple of months of finding Graham online we were moving in to our apartment in El Carmen. When we decided it was time to upgrade, this time it was mostly Gavin that guided us through the process. Once we had made our decision on our favourite neighbourhoods, we called Jess and she gave us names for bankers and lawyers, not to mention arranging visits to potential properties. Jess nailed it. We are so delighted with our new home and with Valencia.
