Today the #WABAS12 video project starts. This is a project undertaken by 12 people from my Facebook group of Writers and Bloggers About Spain (Thus the initials WABAS) where we are going to release 12 videos over 12 days from today at 12pm midday.
There will be a huge variety of videos ranging from a short history of Spain, video interviews, tourist style videos, videos about architecture in Spain assisted holidays in Spain, recipes and a whole lot more.
How Can You Follow It?
You have twitter don't you? Follow the Hashtag #WABAS12 (or #wabas12) to be able to find the videos as they are released and follow all those making the videos. Also feel free to retweet, share on Facebook and comment in Youtube on anything you see.
The project just has the theme Spain so there will be a wide range of video styles and quality. The videos have been filmed around Spain in various settings so enjoy them, enjoy the bakgrounds and enjoy the themes and get to know more about people who have come to live in Spain.
My first video can be found from 11am Spanish time here
So what have I learnt?
As you may know, I have been doing videos for a long time, there are actually over 600 on my YouTube channel, so I am comfortable with the medium whether the videos are good, bad or indifferent. However I have learnt that the demands of a project that people have to stick to bring out the best in people. There has been a lot of encouragement of each other in the private group we set up for teaching and sharing experiences. People have overcome fears of appearing on video, of being filmed, or the sound of their voice and more insecurities. And finally people have just got down and JFDI'd it. (And the JDI part of that means Just Do It). I am very proud of the group for their dedication and that is before actually seeing any of the videos.
To read more about the project there are various blogs talking about it and what people have learnt. You can read them here.
