I have had the fortune to travel around the Valencian community quite a lot in the last few weeks and I have noticed some major differences since the last time I was able to do it.
I have been down to Javea a couple of times with excellent weather to accompany me. Because of this as I wasn't in a hurry I took the CV332 rather than the toll motorway. I saw this carbuncle near to Favara. A Spanish Ghost Estate!
This will never be finished. Who on Earth thought that it would be a good idea to build a shockingly bad estate five km away from the beach overlooking a main road and railway line? And not only that but also the sheer number of units available. Even if we were still in a real estate boom they wouldn't have sold surely. There cannot be that many dumb people in the World.
However a little bird tells me that a certain Dutch footballer was involved in the promotion of this mess. It was aimed at the foreign market of course and mostly in the Low Countries. I would love to know how many units they sold off plan and how much money they raked in for doing it.
What is the future for this type of development though? I don't see one other than to knock it down and return the land to what it was before.
Now the big question is do you know of anything worse than this and can you send me pictures, just a link will do, with an explanation of why your discovery is worse than the one shown here.
