Was I Right About The Referee

Spain debuted in the World Cup as favourites yesterday an despite a generally excellent display they just couldn't unpick the lock in the Swiss defence and lost to what is being described in most of the Spanish media today as "an offside goal not given by the English referee". They also didn't get a "clear penalty in the first half when Silva was tripped by Senderos but it wasn't seen by the English referee". Oh and he didn't send off the Swiss defender for a foul on Iniesta when he was clean through conveniently overlooking the covering defender who cleared. Have a look at this post about what I said about blaming the referee. Now here I am holding myself up as a hostage to fortune but now I think more than ever that Spain will win it. No more messing about not playing Torres, the game where they just couldn't score out of their system and Fabregas coming back into the team very soon hopefully.
